I know this is so simple. Constant power to starter on the stud closer to passenger. Stud closer to driver is how it grounds itself. And a tab that you supply the starter signal too, 12v correct?

My question is with the signal wire/tab. My fuses kept blowing and I decided to check voltage/continuity. Starter has 12v at that passenger stud but the signal wire has continuity with ground. This explains why the fuses keep blowing but how else can I possibly set this up? Any other option besides replacing it/opening it up?

Appreciate any help

Ok im a Little Special, the starter solenoid should have continuity with ground. My question now is, why isn’t a 20 amp fuse enough to hold it. Is it really a 30? I thought satter solenoids used 8-10 amps

The starter and solenoid ground through the starter body on all 1-piece units, and the main terminal always connects to the battery. The only ones that are different are Ford-style setups with an external solenoid. In both setups the solenoid terminal needs to get 12V to spin the starter, not ground. Solenoids can short internally, so it isn't out of the question that yours is bad. You're correct that Nissan solenoids generally draw 8 amps or less (6 is probably typical).
