searched the forums just to get sidetracked for an hour..still need to know what I need to do about all the smoke from my SR. I had my mechanic rebuild the turbo just to find out it's not the turbo. Another friend said it's BLOWBY? don't really understand that. Do I just need do a compression and leakdown to find the problem or just replace the rings/seals. It smokes all the time now and it's my daily driver. Just got a smog so I'm good for 2 now it's something else....HELP ME GUYS! Oh I'm in socal if anyone can refer me. thanks

Do a compression test--quick and easy. You should begetting even numbers across all four. look at the spark plugs they should be light tan not all oily. If all four compression numbers come back ok then it might be your valve guides.
