The only way those questions are going to get answered, is if you do some research... These questions have been answered, the swap has been done and well, research. Reading is a wonderful thing... There are plenty of sponsors between here and zilvia and the other numerous forums out there that sell motors/clips whatever you could need.berman wrote:lol thanks man but that doesnt realy answer any questions
If you are gonna do an S15 swap, you are gonna need the whole S15 drivetrain because the speed sensor for the S15 motor is located in the differential as opposed to being located in the transmission like all the other ones.berman wrote:hey im looking to do a sr20det from a s15 swap into a 240. i havent found the 240 yet but im looking. i was wondering if someone who has done it could give me some tips on what is needed also where a good place the buy the engine and transmission. i am a auto tech so i know a decent amount just havent tried something like this before so any comments who be appreciate. thanks for the help.
if your doing an s15 swap specifically for the extra power, dont. With the $ difference between the s13 sr and the s15 sr, you can have a redtop sr with more power than the s15 motor. s13 motors are easier to install, easier to mod, and have more tech support if something goes wrong.berman wrote:so you just need the differential from the s15? is there any way around that? what is the major difference between the s14 and the s15 i know the s14 has like 220hp and the s15 has like 250hp. but what gives it the extra 30hp. the only thing different i saw was injector size. or is it the tune that gives it more power?
yea i was planning on doing the swap keeping it basically stock untell i get some money together maybe keeping it stock for a year or two then pulling the motor and doing a complete build. and yes im not retarded i know im not the first to do this. i am doing it because it is a common swap and there is alot of info on it.GreGS15 wrote:normally if you are planning on building the car, why not go for a red top? If you are planning on modifying or upgrading, go with the cheap red top. Unless you plan on keeping it fairly stock, then go with a notch top...
Also try searching, there are tons of stickys at the top of this forum. Even a quick google search can give you all sorts of good stuff. The search button is FLASHING RED, you can't miss it. I am sure you are not the first to swap in a EEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS AAAAAAAAAAARRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEE DEUCE-0hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
