Sr20DET s13 install check engine light

I recently installed a black top s13 into my 89 coupe and it runs great but my guages dont work. i installed gauges from a 91 Ka24de so they should work, but as soon as i hook the battery up the check engine light illuminates. just wondering if anyone else has had this problem. also the fuel and coolant temp gauges rise all the way when the battery is turned on, and when i turn the headlights on the gauge lights flash as if they were wired thru the emergency flashers. i have it done to the fuse that supplies the power to the radio, seatbelt control module, AT module, on a constant feed. if anyone can help me with this it would be great, i havent really gotten to drive her with this new motor that much and im starting to get desperate. thanks in advence

i meant that i have it narrowed done to the fuse for the radio, ect.... sorry for the type-o

hey, how did you get your smic hopked up? i cant get both pipes on, the connector couplers are too big w/ the room provided between each end tank..any advice? Thanks.

they just fit right on , i had to enlarge the hole for the pipes to fit thru through if thats what you mean, there is a design pressed into the sheet metal that you ahve to follow
