hey im thinking of going to import intelligence in downingtown, pa to get a blacktop s13 sr20 swap into my 97 240. my parents do have a say in this swap. they want to know how good of a investment this would be and that the motor would be reliable. im doing an auto to man swap too cause im gonna die if i dont drive stick soon. any thoughts with the swap running with greddy 3" downpipe to 2.5" cat back. greddy hot pipe. greddy front mount piping. blitz BOV, Blitz filter. and the intercooler doesnt have a name but its a nce size. set stock boost. what can i expect in terms of reliability and stuff like that?

You can make it reliable. But I doubt it would practical for someone who parents will have a say in it. Its not legal per say, you would have to figure out how to drive it on the road(as in it will be hard to get an inspection sticker). You can figure it out I'm sure, but it will be a challenge.

I'll I'm saying is that its not like *tadaa* new motor and presto! your on your way.

Anyways...I like that front end. I dont know that I have seen a new skyline front end on a s14 but it looks pretty sweet.

i just got my swap done and my parents were a bit worried about it. i told them its basically a silvia thats in japan. the engine has reasonable miles on it and its a Nissan when it comes down to the end. real reliable engines. they seemed to accept the fact that cars is basically my life.

you better do something to the engine....Your front end screams power. Itd suck to get waxed by an sho taurus. You can make these cars reliable. If you do it right, you can easily have 300hp with an s14 t28.

Well i see ur in Pa. I Lived in Essington 7 yrs. The only thing u may have is emission.Unless u live in the mountain are then ull be ok since they dont have emission there. But emission would be the hardest thing.

DUDE you have the R33 body conversion get the RB25 it is cheaper now and a good investment I drive mine daily in GA heat with out problems. Plus you will out run just about every SR and a Few RB 20'sI see them Going for like 2K-2,500 for the motor set all you need is mounts and driveshaft.

i would love to do the rb but ive found that because im doing the auto to man conversion, its about 1500 more and 1500 i dont have. sr's have seemed to be more us friendly too with repair parts. anyone have any thoughts of getting this done at import intelligence? also, if i end up blowing the sr, the rb would clearly be the next step
