I would like to know if a sr20det from a rwd can be bolted on to a fwd transmission and vice versa. Are the transmission bolt patterns the same. I mean that fwd or rwd they are the same engines. Aren`t they????

No. No. No. No. Have you ever seen a FWD vs. RWD motor?

Not to be a jerk, but a simple search would have brought you an answer. This question gets asked in some form pretty much every week.

The engines are completely different externally.

searching = good

the main difference is that the FWD SR20 is "transversely" mounted in the engine bay. if you dont know what that is then... sorry

How about a slightly different question: What's the difference in the BLOCKS?

Obviously the heads are almost completely different.
