Ok, here is what happened

I was on the freeway merging on, I was in 2nd and I punch it and after building up boost at around 4k rpm I hear POP. I blew a pipe off the FMIC, car dies I pull over and reconnect it, no big deal I thought, drove the car home.

A few hours later I get on the freeway to go home again, the car is running decent but then it starts hesitating and chugging at low RPMs in 5th. At idle the car seems to run really rough and there is black smoke coming out the exhaust. It seems if I am at higher RPMs the car will not hesitate or bog down but it also seems random. Sometimes itll ide fine and then itll be right back to bogging.

Anyone have an idea? Im no mechanic but I know a little. I was thinking possible it could be my MAF or spark plugs?

It only happened after I blew the pipe off the IC, that has to be the cause but what do you think caused that to happen? I need to get home from Chicago to Michigan tomorrow. So please give me any info you can think of, thank you all.

Anyone have any idea? I bought the car about a month ago so I am still very new to the 240 scene.

Could be fouled plugs. When the IC pipe popped off, the car ran super rich, which in turn can foul up plugs

Yea, I just bought some new plugs BKR6E and some MAF cleaner and a boost gauge to see if it still has a vacuum leak. Hope it fixes it!

Changed the plugs, they were blackCleaned the MAFChecked all fittings and tightenedDisconnected and reconnected the batteryProblem solved.

The car started up and idles fine, got it home but now it feels like if i try to build boost the motor shakes and it feels really ****ty. The car will run fine in low RPMs with no boost. I havent even tried to get on it for fear of blowing something.

Do you think that could be a boost leak issue? The damn guy I bought it from told me it was at stock boost, I install the gauge and its at least 15PSI. on a stock fuel system. I was wondering why the car was so damn fast, but it never seemed to have an issue, never seemed starving for fuel, so I thought hmm **** these cars must be fast...

When I drive I can hear a weird noise coming from the turbo, maybe its air escaping? The turbo still spools and i still hear the BOV.

Any Ideas?
