Hello everyone,

I am having trouble with my 1991 240sx with an SR20DET Redtop. So a little backstory about the car.

Bought the car couple years ago then it sat for approx. 3-4 years and now i'm trying to get it back running again. When it was parked it was running great now when I fire it up it's running STUPID rich. Black smoke, misfiring, the whole 9 yards. I have cleaned out the fuel lines + tank, external FPR (which the pressure is perfect), resealed and cleaned stock injectors, fuel filter and that's it. It is a bone stock Redtop SR20 and I just can't figure out why it is running so rich.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! I can provide more information if needed. Thanks!

First check the ECU for any stored codes, maybe you'll get lucky and ECU will simply tell you the MAF sensor is faulty.
Unfortunately though sounds like 1 or more of the injectors is stuck open slightly. pull the rail out with injectors still in the rail and prime the fuel system without cranking over the engine. If you see fuel coming out any of the injectors that's the issue. (super common for old injectors even if they've been cleaned).
You can also check the vacuum line off the fuel pressure regulator for fuel. (old oem regulators can fail and then fuel will get into the vacuum line followed by intake manifold.)

Good luck and enjoy that SR power once she's up and running!
