Whats up guys, well today I bought my first sr powered 240. the car had a couple of problems like the lighting system but i have got most of that worked out. One thing good about the car was that the engine ran strong, the whole hour and half drive it pulled strong and hard, only problem it had was that it wanted to stall after the rpms dropped from putting the car in neutral or putting in the clutch. Right when i got off on my exit to get home the car turned into a rolling turd. if i gave it any gas the engine would just sputter and lose rpms, only when it had built any boost though. I put her in the shop swapped the old black plugs for some new ngks gapped to 30, no results. Adjusted the crank sensor, some results but still became sluggish after half throttle. I did a compression check, with engine running it hit 175 and with engine not running hit 125. fuel pressure is 37 at idle. We check the fpr to see if it shot gas out of the vacuum line but nothing, but heres the strange thing, we left the vacuum line to the fpr unhook, took the car for a ride and to ran better, not perfect but way better then before the other things we did. One more thing the car burnt way to much gas, a trip that is usual half a tank from and to, i burnt almost half a tank just coming back. So if you guys have any ideas or examples of similar event please help me. For reference the engine is a stock sr20det redtop low miles with a fmic, fake tial bov, q45 ingnitor and lots of home depot hose. i not sure if the kid put cheap gas in it, but im going to put some 93 and some octane booster in tomorrow

It sounds a lot like you've got a vacuum leak. Have you checked all your pipes and hoses?

We looked for a leak. the engine is so quite that you can hear a pin drop in the shop, we couldnt hear a leak. I used a spary bottle with some water and I couldnt find any air bubbles. My boost has dropped from .5 bar to .3 bar due to the fact that i had the fpr vacuum unhooked. The car is running better today, i think gas had a lot to do with it, but its still a little sluggish.

37 seems a bit low on the idle. Mine, iirc is running at about 39-40psi. What fuel pump are you running?

jk, check all your vaccuum lines as said above as well as checking all connections on all of your intercooler piping, hope that helps some

im guessing its stock, but not sure, it is really loud when it first turns ons. the car idles good now and the stalling problems is gone, it just the engine stops building rpms once you give it full throttle, it still builds full boost but its like the engine fuel cuts or the spark cant keep up

Just a little update, I went to check my ecu for codes tonight. the ecu has been mounted were the glove box was, so after i pulled it out I put the car in the "on" position, well after the fuel pump cut on, i moved the ecu a little bit, then i heard the fuel pump cut on again. I looked at some of the wires and noticed a couple pins weren't held in by the clap. sure enough i pushed the pins in and the fuel pump came on. some of the wires going to the dash are just taped together, that really shows how stupid and lazy some people really are, so tomorrow im going to go through the ecu wiring and hope thats the problem.
