there's really no point in revving it to 7500. The power curve really begins to decline rapidly a little after 6500. Somewhere between 6500 and 7000 would be the ideal spot to shift. Also, i believe the Silvia's redline is listed as 6900 on the tach, just like ours.

sr's have power all the way up to 7.5. with my last car i shifted at 7.5 at every shift (sometimes a bit sooner because there was too much power there to shift from 1>2).

silvia tachs redline at 7.5. i don't know what kind of tach you're using or seeing.

Guess I should specify S13...no clue what an S14 or S15 powerband looks like.

Power curve is dependant on the motor itself... I suggest you dyno it and watch the curve. That will give you the ideal shift points.

S13 redtops redline at 7500 and govern at 7600 on the dot...S14 and S15 blacktops rev to 7000-7200 i think (i know its lower than the redtop stock)

and to the people who think the SR makes power all the way till redline...you are heavily mistaken...the flow rate on a T25 turbo cannot produce the amount of air needed to make power all the way till redline...now if you upgrade the turbo to something a bit bigger like a GT25r or a T3/T4 then yes you will make power till redline...but the T25 begins to fall very short around 6200rpm range...if you dyno yer SR you will notice your powerband peaks at 5500-6500 then begins dropping heavily

when racing, you keep the car in high gear so it lands right in the juice of the powerband of the next gear.

My Modifications

The torque in the dyno was low because of the 3rd gear pull.
