Which timing are you checking

TDC

Cam silver links 10 and 12

Crank on 3 mark to the right (I think)

Check FSM

The way to see if its in time with a timing light is the Ignition loop right at the back of the Valve cover towards the firewall. Its in the group of wires that go to the coils, its a wire that just loops out and back into the harness.

i am pretty sure he is referring to the crankshaft pulley timing marks since he said the camshafts are in place where they need to be. The correct timing would be 15degrees btdc. This is the second mark from the right. The second mark from the left is TDC. the next one to the right is 5degrees btdc the next is 10 and the next is 15 where it needs to be and then the last mark is 20degrees btdc

my mechanic said that there is 4 windows on the cas and he needs to know which one is for cylinder #1. the car has not been started and he said he just needs to know which wire to "stab" so i guess that would be the loop wire in the back...

im confused..you install the cas and then hook the timing light up to the battery and to that loop in the back yes or to the #1 coilpack wires like i do and that works fine..then you set it to the mark that i mentioned above

no in the cas there is 4 windows on the "reluctor wheel" the silver disc in the cas. when you take the dust cover off. he needs to know which window corresponds to which cylinders. there are four windows and they are all different sizes. so any more info will help alot! thanks!
