So I have an s13 sr20det blacktop and im getting some rattling at idle. It sounds like its coming from the front of the engine (timing chain area). It only starts rattling at idle when the engine gets to operating temperature and the oil pressure has dropped to about 15 to 25 psi. Anyone ever hear of this? Would this be a symptom of a bad tensioner, guide or chain. Im thinking of just changing the tensioner since it only happens when at lower oil pressure. Any input on this would be appreciated thanks.

If you haven't already done so, remove your upper timing chain guide. It's a simple matter of removing your valve cover and loosening 2 bolts on that big black piece and throwing it in the trash.

**EDIT welcome to NICO!!
