I am planning on getting my sr20det here ina a few weeks. Im having it installed in my 93 240sx from a local shop. My question is, is there anything that i need to have prior to going into this swap so i dont take the motor there and whind up needing to go to NAPA for a bunch of misc. parts. Ive seen a few threads where almost every bolt and seal was replaced. Is this necessary? I just want the bare minimum to get the car going, then afterwards ill be adding the boost control and turbo timer and FMIC and others. Basically what do i need to bring to the shop to ensure a successful install.

Thank,Brad

Well, you pretty much can install it right off the pallet, but I would recommend getting a gasket set and replacing them and cleaning the motor. It's not neccessary, but just to make sure it will run properly and be sealed correctly I'm in the process of doing mine. Also I'm replacing all the coolant lines and other misc. vacuum lines because most of them are rotted out. Also not necessary

Also I'll be installing upgraded engine mounts, radiator, fans, and possibly belts while I'm at it too

That's all I'm doing before I throw the motor in the car. Then once the motor is in I'll upgrade the fmic, and all the good stuff.

If you're not willing to spend a little extra to make the engine run good then why did you spend a lot of money to get it and put it in the car?The things I mentioned should probably be done

Just search people build thread's. Searching will answer 99.9% of your questions on here.

BTW- I would change everything you can afford now. How much is your shop charging you? what are they including? Do they mostly do swaps?
