Ok lately i have been having trouble starting my car, at first i thought it might be the battery, but however the dash lights were on and my interior lights turned on too, so the battery was fine. Then i thought it might be my clutch sensor, i canceled the clutch engagement switch. After that it would sometimes start up and sometimes would decide to be gay and not start. When i try to start it, the motor doesn't turn at all, it acts like the battery is dead.

I was beginning to think it could be my ecu. so i decided to pull it out and take a peek inside, and what ya know i look inside it and find plastic melted all in it. I was thinking this couldn't be good for the ecu at all.

So i am thinking i might need to replace my ecu, however i am not sure, so i am needing some expertise from some ppl with exp.

From what the ecu looks like it might have over heated at one point in time.

The plastic over the chips is normal, the plastic substance on the lower circuit board is not normal. Look to see if you can find any fried circuitry anywhere.

so i found my problem... and i feel like a complete retard

it turned out to be that my positive cable on the battery was loose.

so that rules out the ecu being bad. anyway i still would like to replace my ecu however i dont want a stock replacement. I dont know anything on getting an aftermarket ecu, any1 have any good advice?

Lol..well there's your problem!!.

aftermarket as in already rom tuned or another mines ecu type? All i know is that your better of selling that one and try and find a Tuned ecu either by JWT, EFI, Enthaply because if you ever want to retune that mines ecu those 3 companies will charge you full price because they want you to use their daugther board set up.
