sr20det popping under deceleration

Ok guys ive had this problem since i did the swap the motor has been making a popcorn-like sound when rpm are getting close to idle. last week i was setting the timing with a light. after setting it i accelerated to check for the sound but it was still there. I did notice that the light would shut off accordingly to when the motor made the popping sound.

I had the timing light connected to cylinder 1 wire like its supposed to. Does this mean that im not getting a spark to cylinder 1?

Sounds like it may be running lean or something. I know decel pop can be brought on by that. Just a thought.

is there a tool to test that? I replaced the fuel pump and filter thinking it was running lean too but it didn't help the popping at all.

Do you have a wideband? If yes, whats it saying? If no, why not?

Full exhaust with a test pipe?

I have yet to see a sr that didnt crackle or backfire under decell without a tune or something to adjust fuel pressure.

NO wide band yet on the process of getting one. I do have full exhaust with test pipe. Ill test spark tonight, depending on weather, just to double check.
