Unless the previous motor was bad, swapping the motor on a stock car is not your best bet.

And uh....what redtop said.

i didnt replace my clutch when i did my swap, mine is fine. but every car/ driver is differnt. if you have the money go ahead and replace it to save yourself the trouble. You can get any kind of clutch you desire. if you have a decent amount of upgrades then you can get into stages with the clutches.

i don't understand...y wouldent putting in a new engin be a good idea to start off my project car?...right now it has a single cam engin with 180k miles on it...i don't really want to upgrade that at all so im replacing it with an sr20 package. and i have a stalk clutch in my car right now, about 8 monthes old. and i havent been driving it for a while cuz im driving my winter beater. and its going in the shop soon so i wont be able to drive it for a couple more weeks while the engin is going in...but would my stalk clutch be able to handle the tourch?or should i just replace it with a stage 2 while its out and easy to do? not that its not easy while its in, but you know...

It all depends man if you pull the clutch out and it look fine then by all means keep riding on it till it slips then replace( Not like is a hg or upper oil pan ) not that hard. I've been riding on my stock sr clutch since i got the motor and its still going strong.

my engine came with an Exedy clutch. When I found that out, I almost pinched one off in my pants when I found that out. I went to the shop took a look at the surface and then went red in the face when I found that said clutch was so worn that it was unusable.

That is the upside/downside to a JDM engine, its like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get.

Wherever you buy it from make sure you get at least the engine, transmission, ecu and uncut harness. oh and post some pixors
