Sup. Did abit search didn't find a whole lot.Its weird Winter is coming and my car just started to overheat. If I run for 30 minutes then stop at a light for 3 minutes My engine will actually start to overheat!

this is my setup. S13 Blacktop Greddy intercooler Stock Boost JDM radiator fan belt Fan.

I have JUST added coolant and the car always wants more! But even adding more it doesn't help a whole lot still Temp goes up.

But everything is OK after the car starts to move. Should I get a Fan? If so any recommendations?

It's probably the waterpump. Especially if you are having to add coolant. Check around the waterpump itself and see if there's an extra amount of goop.

Also, change your thermostat while you are at it. Thermo's sometime mess up and don't open at the correct temperature. The one's that open up early dont cause you to overheat, but the ones that won't open til way after the temp its made to open at causes the car to overheat. Also invest in some electric fans. When the car is at a standstill, the mechanical beltfan can't do much for the engine.

If its something worse then your heater core could be toast, may have blown a headgasket or your turbo may be dying. But I dont think we should jump to those conclusions yet, just look for the signs. Can you get the car to blow heat at you? Might be as simple as a clogged JDM radiator.

This just happened to my Accord, it was cool when driving, and when I stopped it would go way up, and I was always adding coolant. My radiator was going, there were cracks in the bottom of it, and I never noticed it because it had already dried up before I went to drive my car again, so it took me forever to notice it. Sounds like it's Koyo time for you.

Passanger side floor... sounds like heater core, or hoses to me.I doubt it's leaking through the floor so it's probably running down the bulkhead from the joints in the heater hoses.

Heater hoses == way cheaper and easier to fix than head gasket

My car always seems to need coolant in the resevoir but, the engine never overheats.

If it needs coolant added then it's going somewhere, either into the motor, or leaking out. You should fix it before it causes overheating, otherwise you could damage the motor hwich I'm sure you don't want to do.

well day two. I think when i swing my car around on the way to work causes it to leak. the location for sure is not around the engine but a little bit behind it.

the pipe looking thing thats the downpipe.the leaking is on the passenger side.

Did you check the heater hose connections? I still think that's the most likely source. Are you sure this is coolant? If you are running antifreeze it should be green, and sweet to the taste. not that I regularly taste it, it's just the easiest way to tell!

Don't know much about air conditioning, but it usually causes a puddle, where the condensation drips. That could be what's in the picture too... not sure.

Before what?

DID YOU CHECK THE HEATER HOSES YET?

If you can't see where it's leaking take it to a garage and get them to do a pressure test on the coolant system. They basically have a rad cap with a pressure valve on it and pump air pressure in to pressureize the system. They should be able to see where the anti-freeze is leaking out.
