Sr20det overheating problem

so i did a compression text on my red top sr and can up 120 across the board and leaked down from that.thought it is the piston rings, but now my car is reaching water temps off 220's with in like 8 mins of driving...can anyone please help thank you!

There's a few reasons for this. However, I'll let you go search them instead of being lazy.

Or if someone else here is nice enough, they'll spoon feed you.

okay just pulled the water pump and thermostat out and looks good,and the thermostat open and everything. someone please help i need to get to college tomorrow.anyone,thanks!

I doubt your problem will be a quick fix. Here is a Tech page article that has helped me with my SR overheating issues (even though it says RB)

Low compression, over heating.... yeah I would say warped head / gasket, and a possible leak in the system.

I would rent a coolant system tester set to 1.5 bar and see if it hold pressure. If it doesn't search for the leak. If you cant find an internal leak then check for intermix, and if there is some pull the head. Check the the decking, have the head checked and milled if needed, and then get some new head bolts / studs and a gasket set.

Bleed the system, and check the compression in the cylinders.

why do people give others so much s*** for "not searching?"

I mean come on. We all know how s*** the search function is on NICO. You can type in the EXACT title of a thread and it will show zero results.
