You will have to forgive me because I don't know SR20's very well.
My RB had the same symptoms. I took off the Auxilary Air Controller and cleaned it really well. Then I put it back on and it ran much better.
The AAC should be on the intake manifold somewhere.
When cold, then ECU uses a closed loop to control idle. When it finally warms up, it opens the loop and exposes it to run the way sensors input.
Hopefully someone can back me up on this.. but if the AAC doesn't work.. check the MAF, then O2 sensor, then Throttle position sensor.
