might be time to drop that oil pan and look at the oil pick up tube.

I wouldn't drive it if you wanna keep that sr from blowing up.

Next time you do a cold start on it. Pull off the oil fill cap and look at the oil squirters for the cam lobes. Check and make sure oil is coming out.

Also like said I would drop the pan and check the oil pick up. Or possibly replace the oil pump/front cover assembly

Get an oil pressure test kit

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0002...SQWCA

Something like this one, remove the stock sensor, install the kit using a 1/8 BSPT (1/8 NPT will work for the test, just seal the threads with sealant) do a cold start and see what the gauge says. If you've got low pressure or screwy pressure (jumping all around) you've got problems. There is a thread in the RWD-SR section about oil pressures for our motors cold, hot, etc. if you don't have an FSM file. GL

brother, if i was you i would serious drop that pan. there is like only one major (small) line that feeds the head oil. and if your engine isnt pumping oil through the block, then its not pumping oil to the head. & if its not getting to the head.. then im sure you can just imagine whats can happen. its probably time you changed out the oil pump like they have suggested. it could also be a clogged oil line which is making the pump work hard and over time go out. but its sure something you dont wanna ignore. keep us updated. there can be some silicon in the pick up just blocking it or etc.
