i have a friend that i'm tring to help out by changing the oil assemby. i've never done this before, i heard it was easy.... i have the part in hand and need to know what to do. do i need to do anything special to this part before putting it on or do i just take it off and bolt the new one in??? i'm lost in the dark........

oil assembly? as in the oil pump?

It's a pain to get to to as it's in the front cover, which requires you pull off the lower and upper oil pans to get to.

not to mension there are 2 bolts from the head into the top of the front cover.

Requires removal of the CAS, and some dexterity with your sockets (a universal makes all the difference)

1/4" drive swivel sockets ftmfw on reaching those bastages.

thanks guys

i have the part and a new front main seal and enough tools to do the job

i was really wondering after i put the new one on do i need to do anything special besides put new oil and start up the car or do i need to prime it to get suction or what???

I pack the gears with petrolium jelly. that will give you a good prime and the jelly dissolves harmlessly into the oil
