hi, i recently did a swap for a buddy of mine and everything was good until half way home the car died on him. it is a s13 blacktop. i swap the motor from his old 240 a 90 to a 91 because the 90 was rusty. So i swap everything over and connected everything up and the motor started rite up then he drove home then half way his car died. so i got another fresh batt. from my house and put it on then the car started rite up again. figured it was jus a batt then later it died again. so now i figure its the alternator but on his old car the battery charged fine. so wat do you guys think is the problem? maybe the alternator? but it worked fine b4. any help is appreciated.

Very simple, sounds like a wire problem. Happens very easily and I'm willing to bet you'll think it's something else because your an electrician. Check your alt wires...
