Okay well I'm new here so I have several questions. I am about to get a 95 240sx and am hoping to do a sr20det engine swap. Problem is if I do do this I won't be able to do this until the summer, so I am wondering mainly about bolt ons. Would any bolt ons transfer from the stock 240sx engine to the sr20det. I guess I am wondering mainly about air intake, exhaust system, highflow cat, headers... Also with these who makes the best in regard to overall increases in horsepower and torque?

If you plan on doing an S14 SR20DET you should save about $5500 to do the swap...but if you plan on doing an S13 SR20DET you should save about $4-$4500. The prices may be about 600-700 off but thats for case of emergency if you need parts that you dident end up buying for some reason.

Hey thanks! I was wondering this too. I figure if I do a swap Ill need the engine ($2500), Intercooler ($1000), clutch, Flywheel(may as well Ill be there), down-pipe, but is there anything else I need to get I know i must be leaving a lot out?

I have done an engine swap before, that was on my dads truck but it involved a build up from the block, so I do know basically what a swap entails. Is it a direct swap? No modifying anything. I know that silvias in japan were right hand drive so does this present any sort of problems?

Lastly, I read online that there is a deal with the harness being to short to reach certain things is that right, and what do you have to do because of this?

wow, dood if you think that is ALL you are going to spend on your swap, I got news for you.

Start by replacing all the fluids/gaskets/plugs/etc. etc. etc.You are looking at 300bux just in that.add another 100 for water pump.add more for oil pan. IT WILL BE DENTED!!!!!! Greddy or OEM either way at least another 100.Than I would suggest STRONGLY to get boost gauge and oil pressure. Counting about 50 a pop.It gets up in the 6K+ are really fast. if you want to do it right. You might not need a Koyo rad right away, nor a light flywheel, but its a lot easier to install when the motor is out of the car.

You could buy just the motorset and think thats it, but its your choice.Ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure

1st of all a blow off valve is not needed...a boost gauge and oil pressure gauge is not needed right away for the swap, your water pump should be fine atleast mine was so right there your going to save about $450 bucks. I calculated how much i spent on my swap but i put in over 600-700 dollars worth of accessories i ddient need and it probably would go down to about 5500-5700.

here is what you should buy...enigne and transmission mounts(Nismo), coolant hoses, electric fan(s), fuel pump, intercooler (i bought the greddy v-spec), intake, spark plugs and wires (NGK) oil filter, 300zx fuel filter, downpipe (i have the xs engineering cat delete downpipe so I save like $150-$200), hotpipe, turbo timer (optional),westco battery or equivilent (considering cold pipe may go through where the battery is located) and the main gaskets like the turbo outlet, the head gasket, exhaust manifold gasket and the valve cover gasket, or you can change them all but thats all i changed.
