I just finished putting together my sr20det in my 240sx I purchased. I got it cheap with the head disassembled because of a bent valve.

Well now that it's together, it won't start. I turned it over a few times first with the injectors and coils unplugged so I could prime the oil pressure but after I connected the injectors and coils it still wouldn't start. I smelled fuel so I figured it was a problem with the spark. I grabbed my spark tester, placed it over the wires and turned it over; yep, no spark.

So what could be causing no spark? I checked all the fuses, they're fine. The relays are connected but idk how to check them (could the egi relay be causing this?) I talked to the guy I got it from a bit and he says the ignitor chip is relatively new but I'd be willing to try that also if I can find one cheap.

Also I found some empty connectors that I cant find another plug for. I just figured these were left over from the KA but now I'm second guessing that.

Here's pictures of the plugs:

Notice in the last picture there are two stripped wires with no plug. I have no idea what those are for

Thanks for any help guys! I can't wait to get this thing running!

Edit:Anyone wanna sell me an ignitor chip?I think I'm gonna go ahead and try that first. They're $60 on ebay buy it now, I figured I'd try here before buying it on ebay.

the last 2 pics of the plugs and striped wires dont go to anything. the first pic of the 6 wire plug I would bet goes to something you just have not found yet. I would pull the batt, washer fluid tank and see what the open space frees up. u just might not be able to see where it goes.

There is a continuity test you can do to see if your ignitor chip is good. I will try to find the link and i will post it for you. Or the easy way call a friend with a running sr swap and put your chip on his car. no start = bad chip.

Alright guys, I just got started on this again today and it seems I am getting spark. Turns out my spark tester had a dead battery....

Well, after pulling all four plugs and testing them against the valve cover I can confirm there is a healthy spark on all four plugs. Also while the plugs were out I saw the injectors were firing fine too but it seemed #2 was getting more fuel than the others.

So I've got fuel and spark but no running engine. I'm headed to autozone soon to pick up a timing light to see if that's off but if it's not that then idk what it could be.

I'm going away to college on the 30th so ive only got a week to get this thing running and enjoy it before I have to leave

So i've checked the timing with a timing light and that's just about dead on. All the injectors are measuring 12ohms across the two pins. All the spark plugs are sparking. Compresssion is 110psi in #2,#3; 90 psi in #4 and 100psi in #1.

Still no start... Ive got fuel and spark that is timed correctly, but no start yet.

I'm just about to try the stock injectors. The injectors in it now are 550cc units.

Edit: #2 and possibly #1 are getting more fuel than #3 and #4. I'm about to check the wiring now since it did that with both the 370cc and 550cc injectors.

Edit:Took the valve cover off and the cams are mostly dry. No oil pressure?

Edit:Well its running right now as I speak, it seems the cas was inverted 180 degrees. I finally have my 240sx I've wanted for so long!
