before I start the SR I want to have everything ready, I'm new to car engines/bran new to turbos and don't know much at all, when it comes to dirt bikes, quads, sport bikes its a different story.

I plan to strip and paint everything, Spain the engine bay, wire tuck etc.I want to know what I am missing, what I should get for the swap, I'm on a budget, so I'm going to cheap route for now ( which is not cheap at all $6k so far and not much to show) i never usually cheap out on parts but its either that or nothing, i can always upgrade when i get back to work.

So far I have:- SR20DET- Complete Engine Gasket Set- Godspeed Turbo Manifold- Godspeed Intake Manifold- Godspeed Rad- Godspeed Intercooler Kit.- Oil Catch Can- Downpipe- Pulley Set- Greddy Oil Filter- Plugs

On the Way Soon:- HKS Blow off Valve- Wastegate- Turbo elbow- Getting Harness Wired- Valve Cover Sent For Powdercoating ===================================

I want a clutch but i cant spend $300 +, theres some on ebay for around $150, would that be a waste of money? and leave the the stock clutch in be a better option.

Walbro fuel pump is a must right?

an exhaust, undecided, looking for something around $5-$600

where does everyone get the filters that come off the valve cover?

Should I get the Turbo lines?i was thinkin on these http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...ories

other then that im pretty much lost, anything that is a MUST please tell, i'll look everything up, just name the part.any suggestions are more then welcome

i have lots of other parts, bc coils, suspension kit, rims etc. just focusing on the engine now.appreciate the help!!

clutch- get the ebay. my freind has been drifting on his tage 3 ebay clutch for almost a year and its still engaging hard

walbro- yes, its a must

exhaust- get whatever you like, people around here like the apexi n1 but its pretty expensive, a nice muffler and resonator will do with some strait pipe from a muffler shop.

those little filters - advanced auto parts.

good luck on the swap. i suggest a new water pump and thermostat just to be safe.

thanks man, im going to order the water pump and thermostat today, along with the turbo lines.

what stage clutch should i get for a daily driver?

when i removed the injectors i noticed some of the tabs on the bottom were broke, 2 were fine, the other 2 had 1 and 2 tabs missing. i read somewhere on here that its ok to run like this, is there any reason to replace them?

I wouldn't trust such a vital engine component such as a clutch off ebay. Expecially cause once the trans and engine is in the car it's going to be a pita to change the clutch again, just my opinion. I have no experience with an ebay clutch

im not going with the ebay clutch, i was just thinking it had to be better then stock. after thinking about it, its not worth it. what would be the best price for a spec stage 2 with flywheel? or exedy, something thats gonna last.

i ordered the water pump, thermostat, walbro fuel pump, clutch lines, Greddy Type RS BOV today. i need a hotpipe still.where can i get a hotpipe that can have a flange welded on? im trying to avoid paying $139 for a pipe

From another thread a few posts below this.
kentuckyslider wrote:Call these guys. Tennesse clutch supply(615)242-4163. Ask for Randy. Tell them you want a 6 paddle competition clutch for a 89-94 maxima.(Bolts up on the SR) They'll send you one of these for about $140 shipped...........I have a JGY flywheel and I have over 50 passes with drag tires in the 7's in the 1/8th and it pulls fine. They stagger the paddles kevlar/ceramic and it grips like hell and last long 2. I have a 1800lbs pressure plate but you can ask for 1200lbs if you want a softer pedal. I bought 2 clutches for $260 complete with pressure plate and bearings and the first has yet to fail. When it does I will send the used one back and have it rebuilt for $65.
For your turbo lines you can probally get off cheaper building your own. I orderd the Taka lines for 120 and i needed the water inlet line to be longer. For a new hose i spent maybe 20 bucks with an extra foot of stainless hose.

Dont forget to change your front and rear main seals if you havent already. So much easier doing those when the engine is out of the car.

For a flywheel doesnt matter really could just get yours resurfaced and rock that. Thats what im still doing. When ever my clutch goes ( hopefully wont for a while just put in a Spec Stage 3) im gonna upgrade the flywheel .

To save some cash for now you could just get a flange and bov short section of pipe and use rubber or silicon hoses to complete the piping. I did this for a year or so using the stock side mount. *EDIT* I have one at the house i can snap a pic of if your not too sure what im talking about.

Or you could hit up a exhaust shop for some custom piping.

im going to look into that clutch, sound promising , im not worried about the flywheel right

i already ordered the turbo lines

good call on the seals, they never even crossed my mind

i know the pipe your talking about, i don't mind payin the $100 for the pipe, just shipping to Canada is ridiculous. then border costs on top of that kill me.

i hate the thought of going the cheap route, i know i'll be kicking my self in the a** when i get back to work. {f***in arm was paralized the last 3 years}

Exhaust $500-600: My choice was between a greddy tic and tanabe g exhaust and ended up Tanabe exhaust cause its quality, badass and quiet. I considered HKS but the price range only offer mild steel (rust easily).

Do the Tenessee maxima clutch. I've heard nothing but good things, plus its cheap enough to not matter. Let me know when you want to get your wiring taken care of.

thanks but id rather build, i already have most of what i need, once i tear it apart i'll have a better understanding of what i need, but id like to do it all at once rather then having down time waiting for parts.
