Sup guys, just picked up this car has a sr swap in it, and is missing on a cyclinder. Vaccum is good, havent checked timing yet, but i do know how to do the whole take off the cover setup to TDC and all that crap. Anyhow so i went on with the simple options.

this is the first cylinder closest to the front of the car. Pulled coil pack, no change in engine or idle. Swapped coil packs with ones that worked when i did it to all the others same difference. So i know its not a coil pack. Took the coil pack out slapped a plug in it and tried to ground it and no arc from plug to ground. Checked the injector sequence in same manor and no idle change when i disconnected the first injector, but did change idle and sound when i disconnect the others. So at this point any ideas of what needs to be done. I know to do a compression test but i dont have a tester here laying around. But if i did do a compression test what should the cylinders sit at? Also if i was to hook up an ohm meter to it what shoud it read on ohms and how to connect it.

I used to know how to do alot of this s*** but its been 2yrs since i dabbled in one of these so my info from computers is lost and my know how is gone as well. Maybe post up some links or give me some direct answers. AND YES I KNOW there is a SEARCH button.

I have something better than that sr2.0 called....thanks for the smart a** remark and yes i got it running well turns out the guy before me cut a ground wire on the back of the harness that sent ground to the first coilpack. So its reconnected and running ace. Thanks though for the advice and i hope a nub will use it someday more than i did.

MODS please DELETE this post

Um. We don't delete posts here. I figured a guy with a membership since '05 and 653 posts would know that. As far as the smart a** remark. You're the only one making those... Funny how you call a MOD a smart a** then ask us to do something for you, though.

Pyro you could have gone about answering the question a bit different. Also his problem doesnt seem to be your normal Q&A FAQ question.

It almost seems like your CAS has lost the mark of when to fired cylinder 1. Id pull the fuel rail and see if cylinder 1 is spraying fuel.

If YES then you may have a bad ignitor, bad ECU, or Faulty wiring (if you have already swapped in a good coil pack).

If NO then you problems will be CAS or ECU related.

As far as being a member since 05 and 653 posts than. Ya i shoulda known better, but its been a minute since i got back into these and the last one i owned came from REPOMAN in Indiana. ANd the forum layout has changed alot since last on. I saw no moderator title by your name which everyone had some sort of title, whether it was admin, mod, newbie whatever it was. So with sincere apologies im sorry for not Reading your profile. or paying closer attention to who you were. Just kinda used to be an old policy that i had done a few times before and seen other ppl on here do. But than again maybe i need to go back in and read the newbie section. Thanks for the advice and i will be bookmarking that SR FAQ2.0 section. Good luck best wishes and im sure ill be seeing youaround on here.

None of my responses were meant to be a douchebag toward you. I've put quite a bit of work in adding to the FAQ and I'm actually working on a QandA for it. Most of the stuff you asked can be found in the faq and I felt it was best to reference you to there so not only would you find your answers, but you would also get refreshed on some other stuff that would help you. As far as titles, they went away with the new software. Mods are marked in blue, admins in red, and complete new guys get a different shade of blue. Blown240sx he already fixed his problem.

Gotcha so thats how they do the titling thing now. And as far as the SR FAQ section your building, i think it would help alot of people for sure. God knows zilvia sucks, 240sx forums sucks and this has been always my turn to on anything and iknow quite a few of the guys here in the area including Broadfield, which im assuming hes still around. But no disrespect and yes i know it got off to a piss match but it is what it is and s*** hapens. Regardless man gl with it and im sure ill still be diggin around in forums there for some info on some things. Hell i might js sell the SR and go back to a Ka-T build or js drop them all together and go LS1. IF i went that route i hope theres a section in here for that :)

The KA-T section is actually very interesting. WDRacing is the most frequent mod in there. I drop in every now and then to start some KA vs SR debates for fun. As far as the LS-1... It's an overly done swap as far as motors that don't belong in the chassis, although there is a hybrid section, and one of our moderators has a pretty sick LS powered S13. Search for OutToWinPAHC's thread..

Friend's got an LS powered FD. It just doesn't impress me that much.

It doesn't impress me because I expect it. With all the hype the LS-1s got, I actually expected more. I enjoy forced induction I4s more. I think it's the fact that the lag gives the passenger that brief moment to think the car is slow, and right about the time they think that, they get slammed into the seat.
