wassup ppl, been cruisin this forum for quite some time, but only now decide to post... First off, name is Jason and am from Hawaii, and as u can tell I dont own a S13, well I used to, but got rid of it and bought an L31 (02) altima to replace it. BUt I also have a 85 CA18ET 200sx, kinda blew the motor, and am going to replace it with a SR20DET.

I am still priceing around for a decently priced, and fully equipped SR20DET (ecu, uncut harness, ign chip, etc etc) now for my question

What MODS have u done to your SR20DET? wether it be internal, external, just electronic upgrades, or what not. Reason being, when I finally purchase mine, I would like to do all/most of my modifications while the motor is OUT of the engine bay...being internal or external.

MAHALOZ,Jason

for the 6X9s do they just go in or do you have to pull out the chainsaw. I'm assuming they are on the rear deck where the factory 6.5s are.

P.S. That's one hell of a list.

I"m mostly concerned what type of internals were/are done. I"d like to build the car mostly for drifting and Autocross, and some 1/4m

yes, weight stations at the track...

first time i went out, it weighed in at 2600...then stripped all the sound deadening material, and some small stuff, got down to that, it definitly will get lighter this winter, there's a lot more junk to get out of there.

6x9's were fitted into a custom mount where the back seat was with the sub....they actually sit in my room right now though.

the internals are strong enough to handle anything you'll throw at them, within reason.

hmmm, as far as how strong the internals are, enjukuracing.com sells a turbo upgrade kit with a t3/t04e turbo that makes close to 400 hp @ 21psi. is this safe to do when you go to the track, turning the boost up that high that is?

forgot to mention, they say that they ran that on an otherwise stock s13, just their kit for upgrades.

well alot of guys do have the conversion here, and scince I"m bein original and am droppin the motor in my S12...I want to take it a step farther, and work some of the internals, if this car ends up being takin off the street so be it...I just want to be able to have the motor BUILT or at least SEMI built, and be able to handle about 17psi...thats why I am interested what ppl have done to the internals, so I can find out what CAN be done, and what route to take or not to take.

Personally, when I get my motor, I am going to upgrade the pistons and rods just for the sake that the engine is already out of the car so might as well get the harder stuff out of the way. Also a metal head gasket while I am at it. Just want to make sure I rest assured that I give it enough head room to grow with the mods I throw it.

you can run 17 psi on the motor w/ their setup without any problems.

I hear what your saying....then why are you asking? All the manufacturer's make rods, pistons, cams, valves, valve springs, headgaskets, intake manifolds, ex. manifolds, turbo's etc etc....just get a jun crank and you'd be set.....ie..HKS, Greddy, Tomei, Toda, blah blah....

you didnt say what your goals are , so its hard to recommend stuff...ya know

to run 17psi...nothing. If you feel like taking the motor off then get a metal headgasket. if your going over 400whp, think about getting some pistons, rings, and possibly rods if your feeling spunky....all the big company's make them, and they all have theire benifits.
