I just finished swapping over my running SR20DET Redtop motor set from my wrecked car into my new chassis. Once I had everything buttoned up I went to fire the car and the motor wouldn't crank over. My buddy cleaned up my wiring and performed a tuck so that the wiring looked better. He also cleaned up the lower harness. Well when I went to start the motor for the first time I had a coilpack fry. It heated up really hot and started to smoke. I checked for spark and 12 volts. The coilpacks had 12 volts but no spark. So I pulled the wiring harness out. Check is over and nothing. It was correct. So then I pulled the lower harness out and found two wires crossed. I found the short.
So I put everything back in and went to start the motor again. The motor cranked over and ran but is missing. I check the following. Fuel lines, spark, timing (CAS), MAFS, and intercooler piping. Everything was fine and working. So then I found that two injectors where not working. I check the injectors with an multimeter and they all had the same resistance across the board. Next I check for signal going to the injectors. The two that where not working aren't getting signal. So this is where I am. I don't now what to do next . Could the original short have fried something else? Maybe the ECU or CAS? Can anyone tell me where to look next?
Thanks,Dan
