Hi all,

Am new here. Got a problem which i hope someone can help

I drive a 1989 240SX with a S13 SR20DET BlacktopSome items i have...Motec M800 ECU with MAP sensorOgura Super Single ClutchBlitz ID boost controllerGreddy turbo timer

The problem:Recently, my engine keeps stalling. Whenever I clutch in, the engine dies. Some times on cold and warm starts, engine dies immediately after starting. Even more recently, at a huge jam, my engine died a few times and at each crank, turbo timer showed a decreasing voltage until it hit 9V where the car was totally dead. Friend had to jump start for me.

Next day, battery was full charged and car started as per normal.

Some friends and I feel that its the idle valve thats dirty and I'm getting it cleaned tomorrow but is that the only problem?

Why does the voltage drops so drastically with each crank? Could the battery/alternator be screwed cos the next day, voltage was normal?

Many thanks in advance bros. Would appreciate it if anyone has a clue to whats wrong...

I've got a very similar problem on my 95 with S14 SR20DET Blacktop. My idle surges up and down and then when I clutch-in while driving, sometimes it dies completely. I took the Idle Control Valve off and cleaned it, but it didn't seem to help. I would love to hear suggestions for this, because the 2nd part of the problem is I can't pass emissions... they say they can't get a reading because the idle is jumping all over the place. Thanks.

the motec could change alot of things.

There could be something with the electricals. Have the battery tested and the alternator tested as well. the range your car should be putting out should be 12-14volts.
