hello everybody this is my first time here so hello. the question i have is a two part one. the first is have a 04 sentra spec v and i was wanting to put the sr20det into it but not sure it will fit. I found the motor cheap with an awd trans. but not sure what type s13 14 or 15 i have done several searches i think it is a silvertop is that the same as one of the other models.n

Yes, you can put a SR20DET into a Spec V. It is the same chassis as the 2000-2001 Sentra SE that came with an SR20DE. You don't need a sr20 from a s13/s14 or s15, those are RWD motors. You need either a Blue Bird, Avenir or GTiR motor. The AWD transmission is useless, you will have to source a transmission from the sentra I mention or a p11(g20T) transmission. Both of those will be pricey though, but are the strongest. You can also use a transmission from a 91-94 sentra se-r or nx2000, but beware of 5th gear pop out. The next affordable transmission I recommend is one from a 94-96 g20T, the gearing longer and works well with turbo engines. You would need a different ECU, wiring harness, motor mounts, cross member and axles as well.

good i thought i bought a new paper weight thank you. how does it work for upgrade parts most places spec the s13 14 15 do i need to look for the Avenir type engine or internally are they all the same like cam's for example.

Look for stuff designed for a FWD engine. Unless it says "all" it won't fit "all."

So can you guys point me in the right directions for the sr20det motor mount kit into the spec v? this is my first nissan, have a turbo honda. So any help would be great, hit me back asap, thanks

I'd try to get in touch with a member by the username Trav4011, though he may have disappeared. He's done SR swaps into Specs including a very cool SR/QR hybrid.

Personally though, I wouldn't swap an SR into a Spec. The QR25DE has (generally) proven to be more resilient in modified form than stock.

Motor mounts should be the same as the ones in the 2000-2001 Sentra with the SR20DE. I'd just get these from the dealer, unless you want to go aftermarket.
