I know there is confusion on getting a alternator for your SRr20 det, I spent a while researching this myself, I have a black top SR20det in a 93 240sx
I purchased a Reman Alternator for a (1993 240sx w/KA24 engine) from ADVANCE AUTO PARTS part #14987, its very similar to SR20det but not exact (both are 80 amps). First of all, the pullys are differant, size and number of ribs. So I unbolted my old Pully and installed on new Alternator. Second, the single hole for tensioner bolt is threaded on the KA alt. and not on the SR alt. Since mine was a reman alt it had a Heli coil or thread insert, so i pounded a flat blad screwdriver straight in the helicoil and i was able to then with some force back the helicoil out of the hole, thus leaving a hole big enough for the SR tensioner bolt to fit throuh the hole like the SR alt. If yours doesn't have a heli coil then you can simply drill the threaded hole to the correct size for the tensioner bolt to fit through.

!!REMOVAL AND INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS AT BOTTOM!!

Hope this helps everyone else
NISSAN SENTRA SE-R IS NOT THE SAME ALTERNATOR AS SR20DET OR KA

Took me 20min to get the alt out of my car( comes out from the bottom side of car) about 20 to put back in.

To remove alt:
1: disconnect neg terminal from batt
2: remove alt wires, 1-grey 2 wire plug, 2- white wire on back, 3- Black ground wire on back
3: remove nut from lower mount bolt on rear side of alt. (access it from the bottom of car) leave bolt in place for now.
4: loosen nut from upper tensioner block bolt on front of alt. Don't remove nut yet.
5: loosen tensioner adj. bolt and remove it. on passenger side of alt.
6: now you can remove the upper tensioner block bolt and nut
7: at this point you should be able to rotate the alt to relieve tension on alt belt and remove belt from pulley
8: from underneath the car remove the lower bolt,(at this point nothing is holding the alt so hold it in place with your hand when removing the bolt, most likly it will stay and you will have to tap it down and to the passenger side of the car to get it loose) then it will come out the bottom.

To install alt. reverse order of install
1: 8 place alt in postion and install lower bolt and nut but do not tighten
2: 7 install belt on pulley, make sure it is in the right grooves!!!
3: 6 install upper tensioner block and nut, tighten as much as you can by hand but make sure you are still able to rotate alt.
4: 5 install tensioner adj bolt and tighten up till belt has around 5-10mm of deflection on top side
5: 4 tighten upper tensioner block nut
6: 3 tighten lower bolt nut
7: 2 install wires black ground wire, white wire, grey two wire plug
8: 1 connect batt. and start your engine, check that its charging more than 13vDC without too many accy's on.

belt deflection should be around 8mm on cold engine "I THINK DONT QUOTE ME ON THAT"
