ok, very new to this whole engine swap thing, and im just wondering a few things. i have a 1990 S13 240SX with an KA24E, and i eventually want to put an sr20det in it. basic questions: is it a direct swap (bolt ot the stock transmission etc...)? does it come with an intercooler, and if not, do i need one? what kind of round ball park figure am i lookin at for price?

It is an easy swap IF you buy all the parts you need beforehand like the ic. Bolts in. Baby minor wiring. $2000ish for a motor and most needed parts to run except usually piping, smic and radiator. You wont have PS or AC without more work.

If you have anymore questions then try searching first... I alone have answered these questions multiple times in the past along with everyone else and they really are getting annoying.http://www.srswap.com go to FAQ and read it good, then you shouldnt have questions :)

i dont know about u guys but my turbocharged rotary with forged rods and pistons and headers would kill all of u. anyways, yea if u get the whole front clip -usually arounf 2600 dollars you will be a lot better off. if u get a complete one, most are, you get averything such as the ic and ecu, and yes the sr20 does use 240 transmission and diff, but an upgrade to the jdm lsd would be a great idea

a sr20 transmission comes with the sr20. You dont want to go throught the trouble of swapping the trannys. its not worth it.

Oh yeeaaaaahhhhh. Don't be cheap, have about $4500-5000 ready to spend that way there will be no headaches. Also plan ahead and try to think of every little thing you will need ahead of time, you will be very upset if you have to hold off your swap while waiting 4 weeks for a clutch or 3 weeks for a gasket.

If you want power steering you gotta get a reservoir and lines from a 91-94 240sx.

Not a necessity. I got the Single cam power steering resovoir and lines . You are going to have to reroute them with alot of extra line left. The easier way would be get the 91-94 DOHC steering. :pface

check out http://www.afterdarktuning.com for rough figures on what all the different engines costs. for a newbie I think they'll give you the best deal and you don't need to buy a clip to get all the parts you need
