hi i just finished rebuilding my sr20det basically the EMGINE is brand new from head to toe. I finally got everything together yesterday and it started the very first time no problems. The car then ran very good for about 5 hours. I was then driving the car around trying to do the break in period so i was just cruising through the gears not going above 4 thousand. The car was running perfect. I then was driving on the freeway heading home and all of the sudden the car started to bogged down and losing boost. i finally pulled over into a gas station to check out what was wrong the car started to idle very rough. the rpms stay at 700 still but motor is hella shaky and kinda sputtering. So i woke up this morning checking everything making sure there are no leaks anywhere or if something fell off. But everything looks perfectly fine. So go to pull the spark plugs out to see how they look and i found out that if your looking at the motor spark plug number too has fuel on it. So the injector is dumping to much fuel and leaking through. so i then thought maybe my injector was leaking or the o rings are bad but o rings are brand new when i put them in. So i pulled the injector out anyways to check and it looked fine. So i then thought maybe the inject went bad. So i got another good injector and swapped it out and put everything together but nothing changed ill run the car for a little bit and turn off because the car is still running rough. i pulled the injector out and still same thing.CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME OUT I JUST REBUILT THIS GOD DAM MOTOR AND I WANT TO GET THIS THING RUNNING SO PLEASE ANY INFO WOULD BE GREAT!!!!

Run a fuel pressure test and make sure the system holds pressure for more than 10 minutes.

Do the above when you replace the injector O-ring seal.

if it doesn't rain tomorrow ill try that but i was thinking why would it only be one spark plug getting wet if something was wrong should it be more then one.

hmm .. first off .. proper breaking in of a engine shouldn't be done @ constant rpm .. = no highway!

why are you assuming it's your injector?!?! it fuel gets in the chamber.. it should run more or less good

problem would be a bad spark plug or a bad coil pack .. check for proper spark or lack of

and don't forget to change your oil .. it's contanimated by fuel now

well i checked the coil packs also and same problem i used my friends perfectly good coil packs and didnt have an effect on it. and the only reason why i was driving it on the freeway was because i was driving it home from where i finished the swap at. i guess i can try changing the spark plug and see if that would make a different but i dont see y would a bad plug allow fuel to be dumped into the chamber so will see what happens.

bad spark plug = incomplete or no burn of fuel

get a new set of ngk bcpr6e-11 copper plugs or bkr6 for iridium

i personally go for the copper ones and change them out every year

AND SAME SIDE BUT THIRD ROCKER ARM WAS STILL ON IT BUT THE SHIM WITH THE GUIDE IN IT WAS BROKEN BUT WAS STILL HANGING ON. AND A LITTLE CHUNK OFF THE LOBE WAS CHIPPED AND SCARED. GOD DAMMIT IF IT AINT ONE THING ITS ANOTHER. SO GONNA FIX IT TOMORROW MORNING .
