Ok I have a bit of long story with my car. I had a 1996 240SX SE with an S13 SR20DET Redtop that I wrecked. I puchased another 1996 240SX SE and swapped my running motor into the new chassis. My friend was helping me with the wiring since I wanted to clean it up. He had the car running fine with his new harness. I then pulled it out to clean it up and finish wrapping it. I then reinstalled it and the car is running poorly.

The car starts up fine and then idles really bad. I have check and/or replaced the following.1. Check timing and pulled valve cover to double the CAS. Timing at the moment is way off even though the CAS is set corrrectly. I have even replace the CAS with a good working one from my friends car.2. New MAFS3. New temp. Sensor4. New Plugs6. New fuel rail7. Injectors all check out8. Coilpacks all check out9. Performed a leak test with a smoker. No leaks!10. New FPR (tomei unit with gauge) Gauge reads 40psi11. ECU is throwing a 55 code12. Check thottle position sensor and it's within spec.

I am completely stumped! Can anyone help!

Let me give you guys some more information. The car cranks and fires. I get some black smoke and the car is running rich.

The wiring harness is brand new from wiring specialties. It's the new S14 SR20DET WS engineered harness.

if your timing is off and your cas is lined up correctly! you have to crank the timing chain until the dots are lined up with each other
