sr20det front clip

I just recived a front clip with a s14 sr20det I hooked up a fuel pump and it started up right away with no problem. however it smokes like a bastered and there is oil blowing out of the exhaust. should I let it run to burn the oil off that might have leaked past the valves or re build the head or what?

how long were you running it for?

Nearly all the engines will smoke for a little while due to the oil getting splashed around from the clip being moved on the ship, etc.

Let it run for a good 30 minutes and see if it still smokes... if it does then you might want to check the turbo oil seals, and oil lines.

You can also clean out the intake pipes

dont forget to check the rotary splint as well, that could be an oil related issue

I only ran it for a minute or so I dident want to piss any one off with the thick wall of smoke that you couldent see through. also I need to make sure the cooling system is working sence the radiator cap got broken off durring shipping. Ill start it at night after I make sure its getting cooled.
