sr20det for rb26dett

I bought my friends sr20det swap but he decided to keep it and gave me an rb26dett long block, ecu and rb25det transmission. Is it worth the same amount? And how much am i able to sell it? I put this up in the classified section too if anybody is interested.

Could you post this info on anyother boards? I swear I have seen this same post on 6 other boards. The fact that your friend wants the SR20 back is because he needs more money to make the Rb26 work. It's not a easy swap by far. Sr20 is WAYYYYYYYYYYY cheaper.

The rb26dett is a straight 6 2.6 litre twin turbo flagship engine of the nissan skyline GT-R and probrably one of the best engines nissan has every produced. Putting down 280HP stock but actually closer to 320 when dynoed it is worth alot more than an sr20det. Even though it will cost more to do a swap with that engine, the rb26 would be more powerful and have alot more potential. I would just check up ebay for what both those engines are going for to see how much the rb26dett is worth. Also you must think of the rare factor of that engine. The skyline never made it to america and the GT-R was always a rare top of the line skyline so not very many of those in the states. But u need to see what condition it is in first.

Im familiar with the rb just not the pricing of the engine and transmission. I already have an s13 sr just wanted a second one for fun. But i sold my second 93 to my bro so i dont need the engine. I looked around to see the pricing for the just the long block by itself but no where to be found and i found only 1 place that sells the transmission by itself which is at mckinney. I posted this on 2 other board lol. Seeing that different people visit different sites and may have different answers.

last time i called mckinney (bout 2 weeks ago) they told me they no longer sold the transmission.

What do u mean by just the long block? I am unfamiliar with that term. If it is what i think it is then it may not be worth very much and the cost for the rest of the parts would be scary

Longblock is the head and block only. Doing a rb swap isnt for everybody because of the funds Thats why i went sr. I dont know too much about the rb swap neways. I guess mckinney is sold out of the transmission but thats the only place i can find that sells it by istelf.

head and block only means it comes with manifolds and turbo's too right? Just missing transmission and ecu? Because if it is just a bare block and head then damn you are looking on one expensive swap for whoever has to buy the other parts
