there's this engine place by house that i didn't even know about till about now that sells sr20det's for 1200 with 5 speeds. they claim that all of the engines have less than 45k miles. all of them are directly from japan. is this a good deal?

depends whats included...for 1200 i would be weary of any sr20det....but its most likely just the motor and transmission, nothing else...but if you want to tell us whats included that might help...

for 1200 i'd expect a mid-mileage s13 red-top with no ecu/wiring harness and missing MAF. dirty as hell...no downpipe, no i/c, no extra goodies.

Word to that. If you want an engine + transmission and want to go standalone I guess that would be the way to go.

ya, i paid 1600 for my engine/transmission. i didn't get the ecu and wiring harness b/c they were not only hard as hell to come by about a year and a half ago, but I also did the JWT way where i used my ka harness and ecu (just reprogrammed by JWT). if u wish to go that way, it'll cost ya more though.....truuuuust me. take it easy.
