could it be possibly ever legal? as in smog legal? of course not on a 1973 or older car, but with proper tuning? will it ever pass smog? or even so...ive heard from a friend that you can declare your car as a collectible and you can drive it without having to smog it? is that true?

Not true, it wont pass as a collectable. The SR was, isnt, and will never be legal. It will pass smog, it will not pass a visual inspection in California unless you know someone or $know$ someone.

In jersey you should be able to pass the emmissions test....i'll know in like 2 weeks. But if they look under the hood, and see all the mods, you are screwed. find a 'crooked' inspector. I don't usually condone illegal stuff but....
