SR20DET ECU

Hey guys, I have a quick question for you. There is this guy selling a S13 240sx coupe with a blacktop swap. I have been told that the wiring is not there or it is not done, I am not 100% sure. My question is when I go look at it what could I look at on the ecu to see if its for the sr20 or if its just the stock one in its place. Sorry for so little information I just want to have a little information when I go and look at it. Thanks

You just want to make sure it is an SR ECU (and not a KA)?

S13 Blacktop ECU should be #62 or #63 or #E5 or #E6. The late late blacktops (the TypeX) should be #J4 or #J5.

S14 Blacktop is #WC or #NA.

Can someone please correct me if I am wrong, these are off the top of my head.

Be careful if there is no wiring for the engine. You could easily spend $500+ trying to get new wiring+conversion.

I think I'd find someone with a harness and ecu...take it over there and make sure it runs. But yeah, those numbers above are the only ecus I know of (s13's anyway...no clue on s14's).

the s14 ecu numbers you have posted are correct....

thanks guys. Ya I'm just trying to make sure that the ecu in it isn't from a KA. Before I buy anything though, I am going to see if it has no wiring or just isn't done yet. Thats why i wanted to know what to look for on the ecu to see if it was from a SR or a KA.

if there is no wiring you can get a stock wiring harness from frsport for 390 shipped its brand new from nissan i had to get one for my car cause the guy i got my engine from hacked up the harness not knowing what he was doing

Here is a picture that I could get while I was down there for like 2 minutes today in between work and school. Its in a s13 coupe which is actually really clean. Looks like it has lowering springs. Random interior stuff like nismo steering wheel and shift knob. Painted accent pieces. Lots of stuff just chillen throughout the car. He wants 600 because he bought this shop from someone and they left the car in there. He has contacted the guy many times saying to bring him his 600 and get his car out. If not I can pick up tomorrow for 600. I myself have a 89 Hatch the motor will be going in.

Eh, $600 isn't a bad deal but is going to require quite a bit more money installed.

That is just what I can see. You would also want to check to make sure that the coil packs are there. Knock sensor, oil and collant lines, etc etc etc.

Might not be a bad project to pick up now and start accumalating parts over time and finding deals. You could probably get a crate SR for cheaper, but it wouldn't come with a free Coupe

Ya I know there is quite a bit missing in the picture, but there is also lots of stuff sitting inside the trunk and inside the car itself. I think I'm gonna pick it up now since I have enough to grab that and then I have a nice chunk coming my way from school real soon so once I get this home and everything sorted out I can buy what isn't there. Going to get it Thursday on day off. Will try to get the inside sorted out and get pics of all the pieces not attached.
