SR20DET ECU Question

Hey Folks,

Quick question here. I will soon be doing my SR20DET swap. Once its up and running I plan to upgrade a few things (larger turbo, injectors, etc). My question is this because I don't want any down time on the car.

If I have a SR20DET black top could I purchase a redtop ecu and ship it off to JWT(they have a 5+ week backlog) to have it retuned for a larger turbo, injectors, maf, etc and it will run my blacktop? Or would the ecu have to be blacktop for some reason?

If you have an S13 blacktop. yes. if it's an s14/s15 blacktop. no

Wow +5 week turn around?!! Yes a black top s13 will run a red top s13 just fine.
