sr20det ecu "knock maps"? running rich

So I'm running super rich during idle And wot. So i am not sure exactly what the knock sensor does as far as fuel and Ignition maps. Some people say it only affects timing others say it makes you run rich also. I have checked every sensor and every spec except knock (I don't have a knock sensor code) and everything is within spec. When I set my timing its perfect but when I plug the tps back in. The ecu tends to retard the timing and cold start is perfect but when it gets out of cold start it runs rich and retards Timing which makes me think there is a seperate timing. And fuel map. Also has anyone ever ran lower than base fuel pressure for higher elevation? I need help with this one, E-mance emails me back but has been beating around the bush. I ask him what color the sky is today and replies " we have many tunes for many injectors " that sort of thing.
