Can anyone tell me if I need to use the lower harness from the KA or the SR20? If there's any confusion, I mean the one that connects to the alternator and starter. Thanks

Well, to further muddy the waters, I have another issue. The ECU was involved in a slight "mishap" that damaged a couple small components inside. I replaced the components and repaired the track that was broken but I'm not especially confident in it. Is there a way I can specifically test the ECU?

You should use your SR lower harness. If you want your speedo to work correctly, cut off the old speedometer sensor and splice one from a KA into the sr harness (same wires just the whole KM and MPH). But If your cool like me, you would install the KM speedo into your KA gauge cluster and put a resistor (search for the write-up) and keep the speedo sensor on the lower harness. As for the ECU, either bring it to a local performance shop, or you could plug it back in (I wont take responsiblity if you break something else by doing that). BTw, all this is just basics. If your doing the swap, this should be a walk in the park......................................... AND WTF you do the ECU................ Mishap-sigh.. Take care of your parts.

Well, when I was taking the KA out, the engine hoist collapsed and broke my foot and the ECU. I was pretty certain the lower SR harness was correct until I read otherwise and I just wanted to confirm. I'm definitely not cool enough to always have to convert KPH to MPH. Thanks for the information. I'll let you know how things turn out.
