Got a q. SR20det 550cc injectors, n60 maf, safc2,9psi.

I just hooked up my wide band about a hour ago hoping to try to see how the car was running. I got it street tuned on a good number which makes me happy, but there is a issue.

For some reason at light throttle 10-30 percent it can be at a 14.3 a/f ratio, and out of no where it will go super lean then back to a normal afr. All power is lost when it happens. Also, sitting stationary at very light throttle the ENGINE will start to surge. Now I've have check and replaced a few things so I know its not those. ECU throws no codes also

MAF-checked and replaced
TPS-checked and replaced
CTS-Replaced
Vacuum leaks-none from any line
SAFC2 wiring-checked all good
IACV-checked
BOV-checked(I took it off and capped it off to see if it would still do it)

I am lost here, anyone have the same issue ever? If so please tell me your solutions or any suggestions.

Thanx fellas

Take it to a good tuner with a dyno and let them tune it with a better system ie Nistune or a full stand alone. The SAFC isn't able to fine tune your car with all the mods you have on. Then once it's done, toss the sAFC.

I took it to a tuner and it was doing it to him and he couldnt even tune it on the dyno b/c of it. Im going to go back and double check all of my wiring probably sell the safc and get a power fc or something. I cant think of anything else.

Exactly, that's why I said to get rid of the SAFC. It's not capable of doing what you need it to do. A full stand alone isn't necessary, but if you have the extra cash to then go for it. Plus your tuner will love you for it as well.

Dont get a Power FC. I have one and im starting to regret it. Dont get me wrong it's a good ECU its just there are so much better options out right now then the FC.

The FC is old, the software is old, and the hardware is old. Get a AEM or Haltech. Way easier. My PFC has really been a lot of trouble for me. To get the thing to idel correctly or even to hook my laptop to the dataloggit or Commander pro software is turning into a big freaking ordeal due to the age of the software.

Uses all serial connections and alot of serial to USB adapters r not compatible. Pain in the a** to say the least. And tuning via commander sucks and takes a long time. Had to spend 150 for a used dataloggit and then another 20 to get into the yahoo groups to get the newest software updates just to find out the dataloggit still wont connect. Then i spent another 200 for the commander pro sofytware from Apexi turns out that its just a watered down version of FC excel and doent have the fine tuning parameters of the datalogit or other ECU's so well over 1000's bucks for everything and still can't connect to a laptop due to old serial cable desgin interface.
Could of got a Haltech for 1500 comes with all appopraite sofware good for vista or windows 7 and got to the tuning. And it's plug and play just like the FC.

Not to mention that not a lot of tuners are familar with the FC. So finding someone to actually do it is tough, and finding someone with the experience and knowhow to do a really good tune is ever tougher. Yeah sure they can work out the AFR under cruising and WOT, but what about MPG and response? And just every day driveablity.

I wish someone had told me these things from the get go, If they did i would of just bouoght a Haltech or AEM.

AEM is definitely the most popular in my area.
