I just bought a sr20det redtop. It says it will fit an infiniti g20 91-96 but i need it for my nissan 240sx s13. Will it fit or would i have to modify somethings. I also have an ka24de transmission that it will bolt on.

I think the bellhousing pattern on the back of the engine is specific for FWD and RWD. Similar to how an Altima KA doesn't work with a RWD 240.

You can't use FWD or AWD (GTi-R Sunny) SR20's in RWD 240SX.

Did you say in your original post that the KA transmission bolts right on to it? That doesn't sound right. At the very least, you'd need a RWD SR bellhousing to make it work.

Well, if your new RWD sr trans bolts up to it, then yeah that'll be no problem. Otherwise, I'm not sure how to tell what makes a FWD SR a FWD SR, and what makes the RWD version RWD. Maybe post a picture so someone else can chime in, or look through the SR forums.

The only SR20DET that I know of that will fit a FWD G20 is a JDM GTi-R AWD using the USDM FWD transmission. That engine will never work in a RWD 240SX. Starter, water inlet, intake inlet and distributor will all be a problem.

Post a pic of your engine and we will tell you what it is.

SR20DETs that fit G20s are:

R'Nessa
Avenir
Bluebird
Pulsar GTiR

All need to use the FWD SR transmission

The only SR20s that fit the S-Chassis come from other S-Chassis'. The RWD Transmissions do NOT bolt to any FWD SR20. You can do a ton of work to get it to fit (adapter plates, etc), but no one in their right mind would go through the effort.
