Can you explain how your pcv system is laid out? Is it facotry? Does it have breather filters, are things capped off? Regardless if the O ring is bad or not, you are experiencing crank case pressure. It could be a lot (good O ring) or only a little (bad O ring). Doing a compression check and knowing your pcv setup will help a lot in determining which scenario you fall into.
