Hey guys names jason I've been running sr motors for a good 10 years but for some reason I'm having a issue that I can not solve so I'm asking For help.

So here's the issue my car was running perfect then one morning on the way to work hit the gas and it cuts out in the 5k rpm range but only at full throttle so in my experience I knew the plugs were bad so I put new plugs in same thing, gapped them down to .22 and bam it ran fine but only for about 5 or 6 good pulls then back to cutting out pull plugs and they all look the same with white tips.. what could be going on here I swapped A redtop into a s14. ..
Thanks in advance

How's your fuel pressure? Could the fuel pump or FPR be going out and so you're running out of gas?

I've tried to known good fpr and 2 known good walboro.255

The thing that gets me is in the past years when his happens it's always the plugs but if I put new plugs in and gap them to .22 it runs fine till the sparks plugs burn up in like 10 minutes any higher of a gap the .22 and it won't work

Well it's either fuel or spark, so if the fuel is good then I'd look into your coilpacks and even your ignitor chip if the coils check out. And if they wont work past that gap, then I'm thinking you definitely have some spark issues (unless you run a ton of boost on a decently sized turbo, ha ha). What plugs are you running? Do you have access to an extra set of coilpacks? If you're on stock coils, then maybe just upgrade. I know when I went to splitfires, the car ran 100x better.

BKR7s are fine on a stock turbo, but you should be able to run a .035" gap or so on the plugs. So it sounds like you have a weak spark. I'd swap out the coilpacks and see what that does for you. If nothing, I would check them per the Factory Service Manual (see my signature if you don't have one) to see if they all check out. Then move to your ignitor chip. I would also check your grounds, is the ground from the coil pack harness secured on the back of the cylinder head?

Yep ground is good and yea your right I should be able to run .30 maybe it's in my wiring harness? Not a good connection so it's not getting enough power? I've change ignitor chips no difference

It's also happening on all four cylinders so I know it's not just one coil pack that is bad tips of the plugs are white thus means lean conditions correct ?

Yeah white is lean conditions, which is why I was originally thinking fuel. What's your timing set at? Is your fuel filter clogged? I'd grab the FSM and start testing everything related to your ignition system as well as fuel system. Check your fuel pressure too. Something has to give you data to point you in the right direction.

New fuel filter timing is set to 15..update just got off work drove it 30 minutes home heavy throttle no issues but when I put it on high boost cuts out at around 12psi so something is still going on I'm thinking electrical

I know it may be far fetched, but I have had this happen to me back in the day, so it may be possible that you have an intercooler coupler loose. I'd re-torque all your clamps just to be sure. When it happened to me, it was tight enough to hold on lower boost, but air would slip by on high boost causing the car to cut out due to the loss of metered air.

As for the CAS, it may be possible actually. Know anyone with an extra?

I hear yea on the boost leak but I feel as if it's not that kind of cut out but I have triple checked everything on the boost leak list.and yea I have a extra Cas ..no codes are being thrown on the ecu. It's really weird is all I can say

That is interesting, lol. Hopefully someone else can pop in with some fresh ideas or experiences. Other than rigorously going through the FSM testing stuff, I'm all out of ideas.

Well I will test everything on the ignition side as per fsm. Definitely appreciate your advice and help.

+1 for boost leak. I sound like a broken record though.... or a parakeet.

"Boost Leak. Boost Leak. Squawk!"

Can you pressurize your intake with a compressor and see 15 psi on your boost gauge?

PS Boost leak feels just like spark plug gap too high sometimes.

just a quick thought if it was a boost leak why does the motor run with a .22 gap and not .28
but i have checked and none willcheck again today
