I have just completed my swap, its a sr20det redtop in a 89 240sx fastback. The wiring harness was sent out to almasi tuning which are pro's for the nissan harnesses. So the wiring is done correctly. All plugs & sensors are connected. And has been verified several times by and other people.

Now the car is just cranking, but doesnt catch. When i first was trying to start it did nothing moved the CAS around and then it started, lasted for like 10secs while me pushing on the gas and it then just died. And it didnt start again because i tried to play with the CAS. I have verified the ECU and it is giving me code 55 which is ok.No the car is getting fuel, spark and compression. The fuel lines are connected properlly, the spark plus are NGK v power and gapped at .032 I have seen fuel on the spark plugs if i pull them out.

So then i taught it was fir sure the timing is off. Started researching on the net for how to set the timing properlly. So far i have found and done the following to set the timing:Pulled of the valve cover, turned the crank pulley to the second notch on from the left on the crank pulley, making sure that the lobes on the camshaft are pointing towards the shock towers and away from each other. And it was at TDC. Then pulled out the CAS and all that and ligned it up properlly put everything back togther and the car doesnt start, it cranks but doesnt catch.

anyone have any ideas what is going on.

pull the CAS one more time, and turn it 180 degrees around. I've been seeing this problem pop up more and more lately where cars are getting their ignition timing off 180 degrees even though they line them up by the books.

Update: i have tried to move the CAS around freely: meaning it is not alligned anymore, but i have found that it is sputtering now the car, it is fighting itself to start. But it still doesnt catch, i had to stop trying because the starter is starting to get too hot. This doesnt make sense the CAS is not ligned up properlly and this is when i get the best results??? this is pretty weird!!!!! Anyways i will try it later today hopefully.

Do you know what i was wondering if it is possible that the wiring for the coilpacks was screwed up, for example if 2 of the packs were switched around for some reason. Is that possible could this be causing my car fron starting? Is there a way for me to test it?
