sr20det crank trouble

i got my motor back from the machine shop plasti gauge the bearings comes out to .001 clearence take it apart clean it up lube it put it back together and when i tourqe down the #4 main cap the engine locks up any info would be appreciated

have you ever heard of periods ( . ) ? haha. so by locking ujp means.. you cant rotate the crankshaft? your post is annoying to read and can u describe it a bit better? cool .

I hope you also torqued down 1-3 and then tried.

Did you put assembly lube on the bearings (crank side of them only)???

it will be a little tough at first cran, but then should rotate smoothly.

yes i tourqed down 1-3. got to #4 it will not rotate smoothly, like its binding up, and i did lube it when i put it back together only on the crank side.

I believe you're supposed to put it on both sides of the bearings.. (correct me if i'm wrong.. ) It shouldn't be binding up unless the bearings are the wrong size.. that may be the problem. Also you're supposed to select bearings according to the number stamped on the crankshaft unless you had your crank shaved then you would add and get oversized bearings.
