My front crank seal is leaking quite profusely on my sr20. Anyways, just wondering if anybody could tell me how hard on a scale of 1-10 changing my crank seal would be? I'm not a complete retard to cars but I'm no expert either. also is it a all day job or what?

It can be done fairly quickly.

Remove the accessory belts.

Remove the pulley bolt, but leave it on a couple of threads to catch the pulley when it pops off.

Get a pulley puller and pop it off. I sometimes use two prybars, I'm just careful not to crack the pulley.

Remove pulley and bolt.

Replace front seal.

Installation is reverse of removal.

My setup gets obnoxious because my radiator was moved closer to the engine to accomodate my intercooler. It makes getting a pulley puller in there a chore.
