If I'm not mistaken you will not be able to pass emissions with SR swap because even if you somehow manage to wire your consult up our US diagnostic equpment won't be able to comunicate with SR ECU; or something like that.Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.

Thats right, consult and OBD II are two different things. The Consult port allows Nissan to read problems with the ECU. The Nissan consult system can read problems, even from the JDM ECU. The OBDII system was mandated and agreed upon by car manufacturers in the US. So OBDII is found nowhere else in the world. On board diagnostics II communicates with USDM ECU's and figures out if there are any errors or anything else going on with the car that might stop it from running correctly.

I dont know the law in Tennessee but back when I lived in Washington if you brought in an OBDII car and for whatever reason they couldnt scan the ECU they would just do an exhaust emissions test instead. See if thats an option because OBDII on a JDM engine isn't an option.

Here is another idea for you find nearby county where emissions are not requred and get a P.O. Box in that county and register your car in that county. That's what kids do here in STL.
